SETTING A women’s world RECORD
THAT NEEDS TO EXIST
Tegan’s Guinness world record attempt
UPDATE: this record attempt began in October 2022, but was paused due to a serious health incident. The team is working on preparing for a second attempt, when the route reopens (currently it is not safe to cycle through Sudan, due to a civil war).
The countries on this epic journey will include Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. She will mostly follow established routes used by the inspiring record-chasers before her.

Co-founding SHEveresting — a women’s Mount Everest event series raising funds for women in Khayelitsha to receive bikes
Cycling 1 400km from Cape Town to the Namibian border and back in 5 days (the first Cairo to Cape Town training trip)
Riding 400km around her parent's neighbourhood one day because it was lockdown and there were no races. Read about this on the official Strava blog
Riding 500km around her parent’s neighbourhood another day because 400km wasn’t enough
Tegan is super passionate about cycling, but more importantly, she is passionate about women’s cycling. She is not just cycling from Cairo to Cape Town to challenge herself — but also to set a women’s cycling record that needs to exist.

Fundraising
bikes for women in khayelitsha
One of the best ways to empower a girl or woman is to give them a bicycle. It’s mobility, confidence, health and freedom all rolled into two wheels and a metal frame. Through this expedition, we aim to raise funding for women in Khayelitsha to receive bicycles through Khaltsha Cycles, to ride the 2023 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
